Indeed it is the ONLY thing that ever has.” I have discovered, while here in India, that it is an absolute truth. We are assisting with so much here each and every day. This group of diverse people with different languages, ages, beliefs, experiences and geographic locations are working together for one goal and one purpose and are all proud to be a part of providing decent affordable housing in Lonavala. Every moment is a challenge, every day is a milestone and every person here is a gift. I can’t wait to see what happens tomorrow."
Saralyn Since 1984, Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalynn have been working with Habitiat for Humanity international missions. This 22nd annual Jimmy Carter Work Project (JCWP) is a building blitz to construct 100 homes in one week with a truck load of willing volunteers! The pilot project, organized by Habitat Canada and Global Group, will be the first of about 100 structures intended to provide a better, and decent life for the inhabitants of Lonavala, India. The project commenced September 1, 2006. Hay Design's commitment to environmental and global awareness has inspired the team to send interior designer, Saralyn Bouwman to join the volunteers in Lonavala.
